We can be intentional in bringing more joy into our lives.  Rather than waiting for joy to find us, we can generate joy, being attentive to the joy unfolding all around us –including the joy experienced by others.

Joy is a present moment experience.  Mindfulness connects us to the here and now, allowing joy to shine through authentically and spontaneously.

Thriving with Imperfections

One might believe that thriving requires something external –a better job or a more perfect relationship.   But life is messy and sometimes difficult.  And, it is possible to thrive even when life is imperfect.

Savor the Positive Emotions

Connecting with joy doesn’t mean minimizing life’s difficulties; in fact, being open to joy requires that we be open to the full range of emotional experience.  When we shut down to sadness or other difficult emotions, we also shut down to joy.

Slowing Down to Speed Up

When we rush from one thing to the next, we activate the stress response –the state of arousal known as fight-or-flight.  When rushing is our habitual pattern, this state becomes chronic, affecting the body and mind.

Flourishing is movement toward becoming the fullest expression of oneself.  Through practice, one can come to feel the aliveness within.
