When strong emotion comes it can hijack our best intentions leading to all kinds of quick automatic reactive behaviors.  With mindfulness we can learn how to attune to our emotions with wisdom to know how to relate and respond more easily.

When caught in discomfort or pain, feeling uneasy or uncertain, it's easy to fall into habits of avoidance to seek relief that only in the end cause more pain.  With mindfulness you can train to approach the discomfort in a new way that can break the patterns of behavior that block your best.

Holding onto hurts hinders our health - in mind and body, creating inflammation.  Mindfulness can help us relate to the hurt first, take a step back to understand the pain, and the person or situation that may have caused it, here we can release into forgiveness to reclaim our wholeness and health.

The Past Isnt The Present

It's easy for all of us to get caught up in anticipating the future, fueling our anxiousness based on past mistakes or fears.  This is normal memory-based behavior.  With mindfulness though, we have a chance to train in being present to become aware of and interrupt these habits of mind and body.
